Unplanned water supply interruption to Nigel
The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) wishes to inform customers in Nigel of an unplanned water supply interruption resulting in low pressure to no water.
Repairs to a burst pipe were conducted and completed by November 4. However, a pressure reducing valve (PRV) failed and closed again resulting in low pressure to no water to the affected areas.
A by-pass was opened so that some of the areas can receive water. This by-pass has been closed as of November 5 to allow for repairs to the PRV.
CoE water technical teams are working around the clock to finalise the repairs.
The following areas are affected:
- Nigel CBD
- Noycedale
- Pretoriustad
- Ferryvale
- Visagie Park
- Mackenziville
- Alra Park
A roving water tanker has been dispatched while another in stationed at Alra Park Extension Three Clinic.
