Alrapark charity foundation hard at work
The Siyonqoba Simunye Foundation in Alrapark hopes for more sponsors and donations to help more families.
NIGEL – Siyonqoba Simunye Foundation is a group of young adults who have made it their life’s mission to help the people in need in their community in Alrapark.
In December last year, the foundation provided 10 families with groceries with the help of various sponsors in the community, like Brick and Clay, Mvila Tours and various other donations from community members.
The initiative was started because of the challenge Covid-19 subjected many families in the community to.
“We saw the need in our community and knew we had to help,” said Sizwe Masondo, chairperson of the foundation.
Among its projects, the foundation recently launched the #BacktoSchoolDrive campaign. This campaign helped the foundation hand out school shoes to 34 children in need with help from the community on Saturday.
“We would like to thank everyone who made our initiative possible,” Masondo added, “especially our sponsors. May the grace of God fall upon all of you.”
Working alongside Alrapark Primary School and Happiness Primary School, the foundation could hand out school shoes to many children and families in need.
They hope to receive more help and donations in the future to continue with their work.
“We would also like to thank Alrapark Primary and Happiness Primary for helping us receive the school shoes through the various donations and sponsors.
“A very big thank you to Happiness Primary for allowing us to use their school premises to hand out the shoes,” Masondo concluded.
