Nigel SAPS is investigating a case of murder after the body of a man was recently found along Lavers Street.
Police received a report of a man lying on the road and upon arrival, they found the victim and a witness on the scene.
Officers were informed that the man was thrown from a moving vehicle.
Two vehicles were seen along the street when the incident occurred, a white Volkswagen Polo sedan and a Toyota Land Cruiser.
The vehicles were travelling from the east of 6th Avenue and Lavers Street, following each other. The victim was thrown from one of the cars before both vehicles drove off.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the victim was declared dead on the scene.
He sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body. The motive for the murder is unknown.
