Suspected stolen Nissan Sentra intercepted in Vereeniging after Heidelberg alert
A suspected stolen Nissan Sentra was intercepted in Vereeniging on August 8 after crime-fighting units responded to information about a vehicle travelling from Heidelberg. The vehicle was handed over to SAPS for further investigation.
HEIDELBERG – A suspected stolen vehicle was intercepted in Vereeniging on August 8, after crime-fighting units responded to information about a vehicle travelling from Heidelberg.
Members received a report of a Nissan Sentra suspected to have been stolen and spotted the vehicle being towed by another vehicle.
The vehicles were intercepted and the occupants were questioned about the circumstances surrounding the Nissan Sentra.
It was established that the vehicle had previously been reported stolen, abandoned and later recovered.
The vehicle’s owner was also present at the scene and was questioned. However, no criminal case was opened at the time and no arrests were made.
The recovered Nissan Sentra, together with the relevant information, was handed over to SAPS for further investigation and any necessary action.
The operation involved Sedibeng K9, Phoenix Tactical Solutions, AfriForum Heidelberg, AfriForum Midvaal and Snipr.
