HEIDELBERG – A quick response by security officers resulted in the apprehension of a suspect following an alarm activation at Fountain Five Primary School in Heidelberg on August 6.

According to Fidelity ADT, its Heidelberg response team was dispatched to the school after an alarm was activated. Upon arrival, the responding officer reportedly spotted a suspect attempting to exit the school premises through a perimeter fence while allegedly carrying items believed to have been stolen from the school.

The officer acted swiftly and apprehended the suspect before handing the individual over to SAPS for further investigation.

The incident highlights the importance of rapid response and vigilance in safeguarding schools and other community facilities.
