Stay safe while job hunting, Ekurhuleni advises residents

With scams on the rise, the city urges job seekers to confirm vacancies through its official website before applying.

The City of Ekurhuleni is calling on residents to explore career opportunities in local government while staying vigilant against job scams.

All legitimate municipal vacancies are listed on the official e-Recruitment portal.

City officials warn that scammers are increasingly targeting job seekers on social media platforms.

They emphasise that applying for City positions is completely free. Applicants should never pay a placement or processing fee, and official applications will not be accepted via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or email unless clearly stated in a verified advert.

Residents unsure about the authenticity of a job listing are encouraged to check the city’s official website.

By using only official channels, applicants can ensure their personal information remains safe and their career aspirations are protected.
