New floodlights brighten the future of Heidelberg Hockey Club

Recent renovations at the Heidelberg Union Fields have given the Heidelberg Hockey Club a major boost, with newly installed floodlights allowing players to train into the evening and supporting the club’s continued growth.

The Heidelberg Hockey Club is looking forward to a brighter future following renovations at its grounds at the Heidelberg Union Fields on August 8, including the installation of new floodlights.

The upgrades come at an important time for the club, which has experienced significant growth over a relatively short period.

The improved facilities will provide players with better opportunities to train and develop, particularly during the afternoons and evenings.

Previously, the lack of artificial lighting made it difficult for players to attend training after school or work.

The new floodlights will allow the club to extend its training hours and make greater use of the grounds after sunset.

The renovations and installation of the floodlights were made possible through a fundraising and sponsorship effort involving local businesses, sponsors, friends and supporters of the hockey club.

Tania Kachelhoffer, vice-chairperson of the Heidelberg Hockey Club, expressed her appreciation to everyone who contributed towards the project.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us and contributed towards making these renovations and the installation of the floodlights possible. It has taken a combined effort from our community, local businesses, sponsors, friends and supporters, and we truly appreciate every contribution.

“These improvements will make a significant difference to our players and the future growth of the club,” she said.

Kachelhoffer added that the upgraded facilities would not only benefit the club’s players but also create a stronger foundation for the development of hockey in Heidelberg.

The club said the renovations represent an important step forward as it continues to grow and provide opportunities for players of different ages and skill levels.

With the renovated grounds and floodlights now in place, Heidelberg Hockey Club can look forward to more training opportunities and plenty of hockey action long after the sun sets over Heidelberg.
