Three people were killed and one person was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash on the R23 (Heidelberg Road) on July 13.

The crash occurred on the southbound carriageway of the R23, before the R550 intersection outside Tsakani.

According to the EMPD, a light motor vehicle carrying four occupants allegedly lost control and rolled several times in the roadway median.

Three passengers, including two men and one woman, were fatally injured in the crash and were declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

The driver, an adult male, sustained critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
