Lesedi announces planned water shutdown for emergency repairs
Residents and businesses across Heidelberg, Rensburg, Ratanda, Obed Nkosi and surrounding areas are urged to prepare for a planned water interruption on July 30 as Lesedi Local Municipality carries out emergency repairs to a major leak.
Residents and businesses in several parts of the Lesedi Local Municipality are advised to prepare for a planned water supply interruption on July 30, while emergency repairs are carried out on a major leak.
According to the municipality, technical teams will undertake urgent repair work on the intake pressure line, resulting in a temporary water shutdown from 08:00 until 20:00.
The interruption will affect Heidelberg, Rensburg, Ratanda, Obed Nkosi, and Extensions 23 and 26.
During the repair period, the municipality will rely on available water stored in its reservoirs until those reserves are depleted.
Residents are urged not to panic and to use water sparingly to help preserve supplies for essential needs.
Lesedi Local Municipality said every effort will be made to complete the repairs and restore water services as quickly as possible.
However, the municipality cautioned that restoration times may vary depending on the progress of the repairs and the time required for the water distribution network to fully recharge.
