Heidelberg learners encouraged to make positive choices during Lesedi Cycle Tour 2026
A week-long awareness campaign has brought together safety stakeholders to engage Heidelberg learners on crime prevention, road safety and healthy living. The Lesedi Cycle Tour aims to inspire young people to reject crime and become active contributors to safer communities.
A week-long youth awareness campaign aimed at promoting crime prevention, road safety and healthy lifestyles has kicked off in Heidelberg.
The Lesedi Cycle Tour 2026 officially launched on July 27 at Heidelberg Prison, with stakeholders from law enforcement, correctional services and the community coming together to support the initiative.
The launch ceremony included a prayer, followed by messages of support from stakeholders who highlighted the importance of working together to guide young people towards making positive choices.
The cycling tour will visit five schools across Heidelberg during the week.
The first stop was Mountain View Secondary School, where officials engaged with learners on topics including road safety, healthy living, community participation and the dangers of crime.
The initiative is being held under the theme ‘Don’t Be A Fool Crime Doesn’t Pay’, which encourages learners to avoid criminal activities and become responsible members of their communities.
