Driver escapes serious injury after crashing into stationary truck near Berg en Dal
A motorist was taken to hospital for precautionary treatment after a light motor vehicle collided with a stationary truck on the R23 near Berg en Dal on August 3. Emergency services responded swiftly, while the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
A motorist escaped serious injury after a light motor vehicle collided with the rear of a stationary truck on the R23 near Berg en Dal on August 3.
The collision occurred after the truck reportedly pulled onto the shoulder of the road due to a flat tyre.
According to information provided by the Rensburg Forum, the light motor vehicle allegedly left the roadway just three minutes later and crashed into the rear of the stationary truck.

The severity of the initial reports prompted the immediate activation of the Rensburg Forum’s Accident Assistance Group, whose members responded rapidly to assist at the scene.
Despite the force of the impact, the driver of the light motor vehicle was able to exit the vehicle without assistance.
Emergency responders described the outcome as remarkable, noting that the driver was fortunate to have escaped without life-threatening injuries.
The driver was assessed at the scene by Gauteng Provincial Government Emergency Medical Services before being transported to hospital for further medical evaluation as a precaution.
Emergency services from Lesedi Traffic, the Lesedi Fire Department, the Rensburg Forum and towing services worked together to secure the scene and ensure the incident was managed safely and efficiently.
