Heidelberg Red Devils Achieve Personal Bests at Sasol Marathon

Red Devils athletes from Heidelberg Athletics Club delivered standout performances at the Sasol Marathon, recording impressive times and personal bests across the 42.2km and 21km races under the guidance of coach Ndumiso Manyonyoba.

Local athletes from the Heidelberg Athletics Club’s Red Devils team delivered impressive performances at the Sasol Marathon recently held in Sasolburg, achieving personal bests and showcasing the results of months of dedicated training.

Under the guidance of coach Ndumiso Manyonyoba, eight athletes competed in the 42.2km marathon and 21km half-marathon. Manyonyoba praised the team’s efforts, describing the race as a key milestone in their development.

“I am incredibly proud of our athletes and the commitment they continue to show. The results we saw in Sasolburg reflect the hard work, discipline, and consistency they have put in over the past few months.

“As a team, we focus on steady progress and helping each athlete reach their personal goals. This is a stepping stone towards becoming even better.

“We always remind our runners that it’s not about how fast or slow you are, but about growing, improving, and celebrating every small victory along the journey,” he said.

In the 42.2km race, the following results were recorded:

Noko Lamola: 03:15:00

Ndumiso Mayongo: 03:39:28

Lerato Motaung: 03:47:46

Thulane Namo: 03:53:46

Charles Molopo: 04:25:17

Mzwandile Gcaleka: 04:52:56

In the 21km race, athletes delivered the following times:

Nhlakanipho Dladla: 01:42:18

Thabiseng: 02:35:54

Samah Masing: 02:41:01
