Lesedi Aerobics Movement launches first street aerobics event in Ratanda
Residents turned out in numbers for Lesedi Aerobics Movement’s first Street Aerobics event, promoting fitness, unity and healthier lifestyles in Ratanda.
HEIDELBERG – The Lesedi Aerobics Movement successfully hosted its inaugural Street Aerobics event on April 25, drawing community members together for an early morning fitness session aimed at promoting health, wellness and social cohesion.
The event, held in Ratanda, formed part of the organisation’s efforts to encourage active lifestyles and create accessible platforms for residents to engage in physical activity within their community. Participants gathered in the morning for the open-air aerobics session, which was marked by high energy and strong community participation.
The session was hosted at Sol’s Café, which provided both the venue and sound system, contributing to the smooth running and lively atmosphere of the event. Lesedi Aerobics Movement co-founder Moeketsi Sebiloane said the event represented an important milestone for the organisation.
“This was our first annual Street Aerobics event, and we are encouraged by the level of support we received from the community. Seeing people come out early in the morning to prioritise their health and be part of something positive was truly rewarding. The initiative is driven by a broader vision to improve both physical and mental well-being within the community,” he said.
Sebiloane also expressed appreciation to Sol’s Café for its support in hosting the event.
“Our aim is to promote a culture of fitness while also creating a space where people can connect, de-stress and support one another. These initiatives are important for building healthier, more united communities. We would like to thank the management of Sol’s Café for providing the space and sound system. Their contribution played a key role in making the event a success,” he said.
