Residents of Ermelo and greater Msukaligwa Municipality are warned of fraudsters posing as either police doing investigations or consultants conducting local newspaper survey.
According to a victim, three well dressed ladies visited her house and said they were conducting a survey on local newspapers, because of doubt, she gave them wrong information about her surname and other personal details.
A week later, three men posing as police investigators came to her house using the incorrect information she had previously given to the so called researchers.
The three men apparently investigating a case but the helper was quick to raise alarm and they fled.
Members of the community are encouraged to report such cases.
