Police are warning farmers and owners of livestock to be extra cautious against their livestock wondering around.
Chrissiesmeer Police are warning farmers and owners of livestock to be extra cautious against their livestock wondering around especially at night on public and national roads as they are sometimes cause for accidents. The Police have received numerous complaints from motorists complaining about stray animals wondering the roads and making it difficult to drive.
According to the Police, they have held a number of meetings with farmers and livestock owners to come up with plans of action to prevent their animals from wondering around unattended. The Police are warning that stray animals will be impounded, owners fined or arrested for neglecting their animals.
Meanwhile, six passengers travelling in a kombi were seriously injured after their vehicle hit a cow on the N17 road near Chrissiesmeer last Saturday. One of them was rushed to Embhuleni Hospital after she was also hit by a passing car and later died in hospital.
