Toddler and baby beaten to death with hammer

Ermelo, Wednesday 22 June:

The bodies of a four-year-old girl and an eight-month-old baby boy were found with head wounds in their parents shack in Wesselton Ext 2 shortly after daybreak this morning. A bloodied hammer was found at the scene.

The bodies were discovered by their father when he arrived home.

Earlier, at o4:00, the body of a female, later identified as the children’s mother was found on the N11 near to their home.

Police spokesperson for Ermelo, Capt Carla Prinsloo said at this stage it is beleived the mother had committed suicide by walking in front of a vehicle after beating her children to death.
