Breaking news:

Armed robbers struck at yet another store in Ermelo this morning and made off with an undisclosed number of cell phones.

Police spokesman for Ermelo, Captain Carla Prinsloo, said three men entered the Edgars Active store in Naudé Street at about 09:00 and held staff members up at gunpoint. The staff members were then ordered into a back room and tied up with cable ties.

The robbers demanded keys to a cabinet containing cell phones and packed an undisclosed number into a carry bag before making their getaway in an as yet undisclosed make of vehicle waiting outside.

Staff members managed to free themselves and the manager alerted a client waiting outside the store who in turn contacted the police.

Capt Prinsloo said this was the second time within a week that the same store had been targeted and comes after the eXact! store in Ermelo was recently robbed of cell phones for the third time in the past few weeks.

The public has been asked to come forward with any information that may help the police with investigations into this and the eXact! robberies by contacting 017 819 2321 0r 082 373 8389.
