A 38-year-old woman has laid a charge of rape with the Ermelo Police after being raped by an unknown man on Saturday afternoon.
Police spokesman for Ermelo, Capt Carla Prinsloo, said the woman reported that she had visited a tavern in Wesselton at about 16:30 where an unknown man offered to buy her drinks.
He then allegedly convinced the woman to accompany him to his home at Wesselton Shacks in Siluma Street to fetch more money. She was then raped.
Police have asked anyone who may have information about the incident to contact the police’s detective unit at 017 819 2321 or 082 373 8389.
