Three males were arrested and appeared briefly before the magistrate after being rescued by police from angry community members at KwaZanele in Breyten last Sunday 23 April.
They are accused by the community of burglaries around the area.
Spokesperson for the Breyten SAPS, Sergeant Thabo Mashegoane confirmed the incident saying two black males aged between 20 and 35 were arrested with a third person later arrested at a residence.
They face charges of housebreaking and theft and their case is postponed to Friday pending an investigation.
The acting station commander, warrant officer Joseph Ndlangamandla is urging community members not to take the law into their own hands but to report and call police for assistance.
