Chrissiesmeer Police arrest six men for possession of marijuana

According to police spokesman, Const Patience Ngozo, the police became suspicious after the vehicle the men were travelling in was at a very high speed and the driver failed to reduce the speed as he was nearing a speed hump.

Six men were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana after being found with the drug by Chrissiesmeer Police in a routine stop-and-search operation on the N17 road on Thursday, 27 September.

According to police spokesman, Const Patience Ngozo, the police became suspicious after the vehicle the men were travelling in, was at a high speed and the driver failed to reduce speed as he was nearing a speed hump.

“We found marijuana weighing 7,5 kilograms at an estimated street value of R6 000,” Const Ngozo said.

The men appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 29 September and their case was postponed to 8 October.
