Tourism Safety Monitors re-implemented in Ermelo and Chrissiesmeer for Christmas season

The deployment of the Monitors is justified as we are entering the Christmas season and with tourism receiving a higher priority in South Africa.

The Tourism Industry, Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency and the SAPS, have re-implemented the tourism safety monitors in Ermelo and Chrissiesmeer recently.

Tourism monitors were deployed on Wednesday, 7 November to potential hot spots in the towns.

This was after the group of 22 people who were selected for this task received intensive training.

The training was provided by VPK College with input into the tourism aspect from the Regional Tourism Organisation, Highveld Tourism.

“The deployment of the monitors are justified as we are entering the Christmas season with tourism receiving a higher priority in South Africa.” said Mr Athol Stark, Chief Coordinator of Highveld Tourism Mpumalanga.
