Four men target shops in Fernie in armed robbery

This is the second armed robbery that took place in one day in Fernie and police urge the community to be vigilant and cautious until the men are arrested.

Four men robbed the Sizanani Shop at Emkhumula section in Fernie on Thursday, 7 March.

According to Const Nondumiso Xaba, Fernie Police spokesman, the armed suspects, entered the shop at around 7:50pm and demanded money.

“They took money and cell phones amounting to the value of R1 800,” Const Xaba said.

Fernie Police are appealing to community members who can assist with the investigation to come forward or to contact Det/Const Muzikayifani Thela at 017 888 0800.
