VIDEO- Students protest about not receiving funds from National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS)

“It is as though we are not considered students of GS College.”

A crowd of more than 100 Gert Sibande (GS) College students protested in solidarity outside the gates of GS College, to voice their grievances about not receiving financial aid.

Students complained that they allegedly have not received funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).

Nthandoyenkosi Sukazi, a student of GS College and NFSAS, said the last time they received money was in their first term.

She added, when students recently received their results, their marks were zero.

Nthandoyenkosi said: “It is as though we are not considered as students of GS College.”

Stomping their feet and chanting songs of struggle, the students held up a boards stating, “We want to talk with the CEO! We are tired of management. SILAMBILE!!!”

ACSU Security and Ermelo Police monitored the situation.
