Lothair Police nabs 22-year-old with R140 000 worth of dagga

Lothair Police discovered dagga with a street value of R140 000 on 22 August during a stop-and-search operation on the Amsterdam Road towards Carolina Road.

Members of the Lothair Police stopped an Isuzu bakkie and introduced themselves to the driver and the passenger.

According to Const Bathobile Khumalo, spokesman for Lothair Police, the passenger opened the door and ran into a nearby forest.

Const Khumalo said: “The police members requested the driver to step out of the vehicle to search the bakkie.”

She added that the driver told Sgt Zulu that there is dagga in the back of the bakkie and that he was transporting it to Rustenburg.
