Ermelo Police arrest alleged sex worker

She said, “The most I make is R300 a day and from that money I pay R100 for rent per day to the landlord.”

A foreigner (34) who thought she was being offered a good job in Ermelo, was arrested on Sunday, 15 September for public indecency.

This comes shortly after 17 alleged prostitutes were arrested in Ermelo on 27 August.

She claims a “lady” offered her employment, but she had no idea the job entailed being a sex worker.
“I was unemployed and so eager to earn money to support my two kids and five of my late sister’s children.
I did not realise I was to become a prostitute.”
She now believes she has no other choice, but to continue selling herself, because she needs to feed the children.
