Three suspects plead guilty to public violence and malicious damage to property in Lothair

They were further declared unfit to possess a firearm in terms of Firearms Control Act 60/2000 (section103).

Three of the five suspects who were arrested on 21 August last year on charges of public violence and malicious damage to property, after an illegal protest at Silindile Location, were sentenced on 17 September.

Ms Nomvula Sarah Mazibukoc (48), Mr Thabang Junior Sibeko (21) and Mr Terence Mbongeni Nzima (28) pleaded guilty and were sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, that was suspended for five years on condition that the accused is not convicted of public violence during the period of five years.

They were further declared unfit to possess a firearm in terms of Firearms Control Act 60/2000 (section103).

The two accused that pleaded not guilty will appear on 21 October for trial.
