Ermelo Police had their hands full over the festive season

She said that according to information, the man was admitted to hospital for treatment after a 16-year old boy allegedly stabbed him outside a tavern in Thusivillage.

Ermelo Police were kept busy over the festive season, with various serious crimes that occurred in Ermelo and Wesselton.
The body of a 30-year-old man was found on 14 December in Tekane Street, Wesselton, with two open wounds to his neck.
According to Capt Carla Prinsloo, spokesman for Ermelo Police, the Ermelo Provincial Hospital also informed them of the death of a 20-year-old man on 14 December.
She said that according to information, the man was admitted to hospital for treatment after a 16-year old boy allegedly stabbed him outside a tavern in Thusivillage.
In another unrelated incident, a 17-year-old girl was raped on 15 December by a 24-year old suspect.
“Her boyfriend and the suspect accompanied her home and after her boyfriend left, the suspect forced himself on her and raped her.”
The suspect was arrested after the incident.
Another rape is also being investigated after allegations were made that an 18-year-old girl was raped by her stepfather on a farm in the Ermelo district.
The victim alleged that her stepfather entered her room and raped her.
