Carolina Police arrested Ms Anna Skhumbuzo Mayibila (36) on 4 January in connection with the murder of her partner Mr Vusi Petros Msibi (36).
She was arrested after the family of the deceased reported his disappearance in November.
According to Const Thabang Mokwana, spokesman for Carolina Police, the family said that Ms Mayibila told them a different story every time they asked about his whereabouts and they suspected that she knew where he was.
The police visited the house and spoke to Ms Mayibila who could not tell them where Mr Msibi was.
Const Mokwana said: “There was a very bad odor coming out of the house and police investigated.
They searched the house and found the decomposed body of the victim wrapped with a blanket under a bed.”
“Ms Mayibila said she had an argument with Mr Msibi, when she pushed him and he fell and injured his head.”
She appeared in the Carolina Court on 6 January and the case was postponed to 15 January.
