Cash-in-transit van bombed between Breyten and Hendrina

The robbers fled in a grey Ford Ranger without number plates with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Sgt Thabo Mashegoane, spokesman of Breyten Police confirmed the bombing of a cash-in-transit vehicle that took place between Breyten and Hendrina at about 3pm on 20 January.

He added that five men armed with rifles, fired shots at the vehicle, forcing the driver to pull over.

The robbers bombed the vehicle and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police indicated that they made off in a grey/silver Ford Ranger without number plates.

The cash-in-transit vehicle that was blown-up between Breyten and Hendrina at about 3pm on 20 January.

Sgt Mashegoane said police are still on the scene.

No one was injured during the bombing of the vehicle.
