Security guards at the Ermelo Provincial Hospital cease protests over wage dispute and return to work

Security guards at the Ermelo Provincial Hospital ceased a protests and resumed work on 30 January.

The Highvelder published an article on its website, ‘Security guards at Ermelo Provincial Hospital: “They treat us like dogs”’, on 29 January.

They claimed they had received their salaries late, something that has according to them, been happening since June 2019.

Mr Lucky Zondo, a representative in Mpumalanga for the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU), said: “Workers have returned to work and their salaries are trickling in.”

“Although they still have issues with their employers, they will deal directly with the company.”
