Stella thanks locals of Ermelo for generosity after their house burned down
Ms Mthembu said: “People that know me, did not know what happened until they saw the article and the response was overwhelming”.
Ms Stella Mthembu thanked members of the community that made a difference in her life after her house caught on fire on 11 January.
The Highvelder published an article, ‘House goes up in flames’ on 7 February after a family of four lost all their belongings in a house fire.
Ms Mthembu said: “People that know me, did not know what happened until they saw the article and the response was overwhelming”.
“Their support helped my family feel a lot better.”
Councillor Trevor Nkosi, the whip of the Gert Sibande District Municipality’s Council, made a donation of blankets and groceries to the Mthembu Family.
Ms Mthembu and her family were overjoyed to receive the donation.
She said, she is so grateful for all the support she has been getting from the community of Ermelo.
