Don’t bring a knife or gun to a gunfight with Ermelo’s sharpshooter John Whatley

At age 18-years-old he became the first member and therefore also the youngest member of EDPC to be classified a Master Shooter.

Ermelo Defensive Pistol Club (EDPC) can proudly boast about a meticulous and well rounded marksman in their midst.

With a name like John Whatley, you would expect nothing less – even leading actors in spaghetti Westerns would be jealous.

Regardless of Whatley’s well-suited name, his abilities come to the forefront on the shooting range and will leave you awestruck.

Whatley began shooting at age five and vividly recalls his first buck he shot the same year.

His Father Vivian, also a member of EDPC, is an avid shooter who carried his passion for shooting over to his son.

“Shooting runs in the family and it definitely courses through my veins,” John said proudly.

At age 18-years-old he became the first member of EDPC to be classified a Master Shooter.

A Master classification is the highest ranking one can obtain in the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA).

Asked about his views on the EDPC, he responded: “Its the best team ever!”
