Msukaligwa Municipality’s Mayor lends a helping hand

Another project Ms Bal is focusing on, is helping residents in Ermelo who cannot work during the lockdown or who have lost their job, the elderly and other residents with children who are struggling to make ends meet.

The Mayor of Msukaligwa Municipality, Mr Joseph Mkhaliphi, together with a team of municipal workers and volunteers lent a helping hand to those in need in Ermelo and surrounding towns.

For many residents in Ermelo and six other surrounding towns, they made the upcoming Easter weekend a little more joyous.

They handed out 280 parcels of food that were sponsored by Devland Cash and Carry, Mohammed Bhyat from the Calstar Group of Companies and Cassims.

A total of 35 children at Itafa Secondary School received a sandwich and a lucky packet, that was sponsored by Mr Muhammed Bhyat from the Calstar Group of Companies.

Ms Julia Bal said: “The joy on the children’s faces was priceless.”

They will receive sandwiches from Monday to Friday.

Another project Ms Bal is focusing on, is helping residents in Ermelo who cannot work during the lockdown or who have lost their job, the elderly and other residents with children who are struggling to make ends meet.

She thanked the following sponsors who made it possible to help these residents; Damian Morgan Foundation, Mr Theo and Ms Natasch Bleeker from CASA Developments Group, Hough Butcher and every community member that contributed to the project.

She added that 54 families have been helped with this project.
