Carolina Police arrest five people during Easter weekend for contravening Disaster Management Act

According to Const Thabang Mokwana, spokesman for Carolina Police, the suspects will appear in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on 14 April.

Carolina Police arrested five people over the Easter weekend for contravening the Disaster Management Act.

They were arrested in terms of the Disaster Management Act 2020 Section 11(b) subsection (a)(i) failure by a person to be confined to a residence during lockdown except to perform/obtain essential service/goods, collect social grant or seek medical attention.

According to Const Thabang Mokwana, spokesman for Carolina Police, the suspects will appear in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on 14 April.

Const Mokwana advised residents of Carolina to avoid engaging in activities that will get them arrested.
