The Msukaligwa Municipality issued the schedule and emphasized that residents should use electricity sparingly to avoid overloading of the substation.

Residents in Ermelo who are supplied with electricity through the 88Kv-substation, should take note of the latest municipal load reduction schedule.

The Msukaligwa Municipality issued the schedule and emphasized that residents should use electricity sparingly to avoid overloading of the substation.

This can be done by switching of all non-essential electric appliances, such as geysers.

The Highvelder recently spoke to Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman for the municipality who stated that there is a exponentially higher demand which he attributed to winter creeping in.

This coupled with illegal connections, which seem to be at the root of unplanned outages, overload substations which in turn leads to the implementation of load reductions.

The municipality stated that the substation is mostly overloaded between 5pm and 9pm.
