Police arrest man after finding 230kg of dagga in his possession

According to Brig Selvy Mohlala, Mpumalanga police spokesman, the members were conducting their highway patrol on the road between Hendrina and Bethal, when they noticed a suspicious Toyota Hilux bakkie.

HENDRINA – A 37-year-old man was arrested after members of the Secunda Flying Squad discovered bags of dagga weighting 230kg in his vehicle.

According to Brig Selvy Mohlala, Mpumalanga police spokesman, the members were conducting their highway patrol on the road between Hendrina and Bethal, when they noticed a suspicious Toyota Hilux bakkie.

“They stopped and searched the vehicle and discovered the bags of dagga,” Brig Mohlala said.

The suspect was arrested for allegedly dealing in dagga.

He is expected to appear before Hendrina Magistrate’s Court today, January 26.

The Provincial Commissioner of police in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, has applauded the members for their vigilance during patrols and encouraged them to continue working hard.
