ERMELO – There are four sectors in the Ermelo Sector Crime Forum and residents are reminded of their coverage areas and overseers.

This area is overseen by warrant officer DJ Skhosana and includes Thusi Village, Longhomes, Everest Park, Ethembeni, Thambo Village, Emadamini, Thembisa, Cwebezela, Welas, Thuthukani House, Enkanini, Mazakhele, and Extension 7.

The most prevalent crimes in sector 1 are gangsterism, house break-ins, and stabbings, according to warrant officer Skhosana.

Police are asking residents to be aware of their surroundings, especially when it comes to gangsters. It tends to be teenagers who belong to these groups, so residents should contact the Community Police Forum and report criminal behavior.

“Police cannot prevent crime alone; we need the communities’ help,” warrant officer Skhosana said.
