Carolina police investigate 42-year-old’s abduction

'When her husband arrived, three men emerged and demanded money from him'

CAROLINA – The police are investigating the abduction of a 42-year-old man, Mr Shu Cheng Chi, who was seized by unidentified men outside his house on May 3.

According to Sgt Thabang Mokwana, the Carolina police spokesman, Mr Chi’s wife was waiting for him outside their house to bring the house keys when the incident took place.

“When her husband arrived, three men emerged and demanded money from him,” Sgt Mokwana said.

He said the men took the couple’s house keys and went inside.

After the men searched through the house, they took her husband and fled in his vehicle.

His wife reported the incident to the police, who launched a manhunt.

They found his vehicle abandoned at a nearby farm with the victim’s clothing and eight R5 live rounds. ***

“Investigations into the matter are ongoing,” Sgt Mokwana said.
