Carolina police arrest suspects with 200 litres of diesel in their possession

“The driver and passenger, aged 19 and 20 , did not have a receipt and could not give a clear explanation of where they had bought or found the diesel,” Sgt Mokwana said.

CAROLINA – Two men were arrested in the Silobela township for not being able to explain where they had bought 200 litres of diesel on May 10.

According to Sgt Thabang Mokwana, the spokesman for the Carolina police, officers patrolled the street when they saw a suspicious bakkie with 20-litre containers.

The police stopped the vehicle and found the diesel in their possession.

“The driver and passenger, aged 19 and 20, did not have a receipt and could not give a clear explanation of where they had bought or found the diesel,” Sgt Mokwana said.

They were arrested and charged with possession of suspected stolen property.

The two suspects will appear in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on May 11.
