CAROLINA – A 32-year-old man appeared in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court facing charges of raping a six-year-old girl on August 10.

According to Sergeant Thabang Mokwana, spokesperson for Carolina police, the man repeatedly forced himself on the girl, while her grandmother was at work.

He is also her grandmother’s boyfriend, and stays at home with him when her grandmother works.

“The girl told one of the neighbors about the incident, who reported the matter to the local social workers,” Mokwana said.

He was arrested shortly after the incident took place.

He was remanded in custody and the case was postponed to August 15 for his formal bail hearing.
