MEC Vusi Shongwe leads safety operation in Ermelo
The MEC was accompanied by members of the Provincial Traffic Intervention Unit, tactical response team and the local police.
ERMELO – Mpumalanga’s community safety, security and liaison MEC, Vusi Shongwe, led an overall operation in town to ensure residents are complying with the law.
According to Moeti Mmusi, the provincial spokesperson for this department, various taverns and liquor outlets were checked for compliance.
The MEC was accompanied by members of the Provincial Traffic Intervention Unit, tactical response team and the local police.
“These operations will be the order of the day to ensure safety in the province,” Shongwe said.
Similar operations are planned for other problematic areas in the province.
