Police nab alleged smuggler with R300 000’s dagga in Morgenzon

The vehicle was loaded with luggage, and upon searching it, they discovered seven bags of dagga.

MORGENZON – An alleged dagga smuggler (28) was arrested by police members from the Secunda Flying Squad Unit on June 26.

According to Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, a provincial police spokesperson, some police officers were patrolling along the R39 when they pulled over a white Nissan NP200 bakkie with one occupant.

The vehicle was loaded with luggage, and upon searching it, they discovered seven bags of dagga.

“The dagga weighed about 1 280kg and the estimated street value is about R300 000,” Mohlala said.

The suspect was arrested and charged for dealing in dagga, and the vehicle was seized for further investigation.
