Boards at Veltman Park in Ermelo fall over

Glass shards of broken bottles and other refuse are also frequently seen scattered around the area, trash bins have been set on fire, and the area has been littered numerous times before.

ERMELO – Two rules and regulations boards in the Veltman Park recently fell over.

It is thought the recent rain and the soggy ground are possible causes.

Controversies had been sparked in the past by the basic rules and regulations indicated on these boards.

A resident took pictures of young motorcyclists last year who disobeyed the park’s rules and sent the photos, along with a report, to Highvelder for publication.

Several readers, however, came to their defence and pointed out that other people also stop there, play music, drink alcohol and allegedly urinate in the park – which they deemed to be even worse.

In the interim, however, numerous articles were published about the park’s neglect at times, as well as rules and regulations being broken.

Motorcyclists have been seen frequenting the park still, as well as individuals in their private vehicles, drinking from the trunks of their cars.

Glass shards of broken bottles and other refuse are also frequently seen scattered around the area, trash bins have been set on fire, and the area has been littered numerous times before.
