VIDEO – JJ Scholtz sworn in as Msukaligwa Municipality’s Ward 7 councillor
JJ Scholtz has reaffirmed his commitment to driving impactful and lasting improvements across Ward 7 and the broader Ermelo community.
ERMELO – During a formal inauguration ceremony at the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on November 13, Dr JJ Scholtz of the DA was officially sworn in as Msukaligwa Municipality’s Ward 7 councillor.
This event marked the beginning of Scholtz’s tenure following his by-election victory on October 23 and underscored his commitment to the community and the DA’s vision for the town as a whole.
In his inaugural address, Scholtz reiterated his dedication to fostering meaningful change across Ward 7 and Ermelo, pledging a solution-oriented approach to his new role.
“I am honored to take on this role and intend to ensure that every resident feels their voice is heard,” he stated. He emphasised a constructive style of governance, noting: “I see myself as a builder, not a breaker.”
Scholtz, who previously served as a councillor for the ACDP, recently joined the DA, bringing with him a background of community engagement and advocacy.
With the official proceedings now complete, the residents are hopeful as they look forward to his leadership in addressing local issues and advancing development initiatives throughout Ward 7.
