A man and woman were trapped inside, while two other men and a woman were lying outside the vehicle.

ERMELO – Five people were injured when their vehicle rolled on Saturday July 30 approximately 5km outside town.

ER24, Ermelo EMS, Msukaligwa Fire & Rescue and local authorities reportedly arrived on the scene at about 06:55, and found the vehicle on its side in a storm water drain.

A man and woman were trapped inside, while two other men and a woman were lying outside the car.

According to the ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, the medics assessed the patients and found two men and two women in a critical condition, while the fifth patient had sustained minor injuries.

The rescue services had to use specialised equipment to free the man and woman from the vehicle.

“Once they were released, medics treated them and provided the critically injured with advanced life support before they were transported to the nearby hospital for urgent care,” Meiring said.

Highvelder send media enquiries to Captain Carla Prinsloo, the spokesperson for the Ermelo police, and awaits response.
