ACSU was called to the scene by local business owners who apprehended the suspect.

ERMELO – A local business owner (39) was allegedly robbed at gunpoint when he was closing his shop at Naudé Street on August 25.

Four male suspects allegedly surrounded the victim and one pointed a firearm at him, demanding money.

The suspects allegedly took his cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in a VW Polo.

Fortunately, one of the suspects (39) could not get into the vehicle and was left behind at the scene.

According to Bester Maree of ACSU, the suspect was apprehended by local business owners who called ACSU.

“ACSU members handed the suspect over to Ermelo Police,” Maree said.
