MEC Shongwe attends N2 Roadblock to ensure road safety during Easter Weekend.

ERMELO – The Mpumalanga MEC for community safety, security and liaison, Vusi Shongwe, attended a roadblock on the N2 to Mkhondo this Easter Weekend, where he addressed the issue of road safety and urged drivers to be responsible.
It was expected to be flooded by holidaymakers returning for work and to home.

The MEC also highlighted some of the common causes of accidents during the festive season,
including reckless driving, drunk driving and speeding. He urged motorists to avoid these behaviours and to always be vigilant when behind the wheel.

The MEC took the opportunity to inspect some vehicles and check for any safety violations. “We want to make sure all vehicles on the road are in a good condition and that they meet the necessary safety standards,” he said.
