Ermelo-man with esophageal cancer seeks out alternative treatment
The Ermelo Homeschool Group has reached out to the Highvelder to ask for publicity to assist in raising funds to cover some of the family’s expenses.
ERMELO – Eugene Jacobs has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer and is seeking out alternative treatment.
The cost of such treatment is, however, not covered by his medical aid.
Jacobs was diagnosed in May 2022 and has opted to pursue an alternative treatment plan under the care of Dr Thomas Lodi from Oasis of Healing in Mesas Arizona, United States of America.
Lodi will be collaborating with Dr Francois van Wyk from Harrismith to assess Jacobs’s condition during the treatment process.

The Ermelo Homeschool Group has reached out to the Highvelder to ask for publicity to assist in raising funds to cover some of the family’s expenses.
The estimated cost of the treatment plan is R500 000, which will cover the cost of visiting a biological dentist, purchasing supplements and medications on a monthly basis, attending monthly therapy sessions, and receiving injections to help Jacobs with his hemoglobin levels.
Nadine Pace, a member of the Ermelo Homeschool Group, has pleaded the community to support the Jacobs family in any way.
Donations can be made to a dedicated account and will be used to cover the costs of the treatment plan and related expenses.
