UPDATE – Death toll rises to 3 after collision outside Ermelo

A paramedic has confirmed the death of another person after the fatal collision between two vehicles

Another person sadly died after the earlier collision outside Ermelo on the N2.

The death toll stands at three, with an additional three people critically injured.


Accident outside Ermelo on N2 claims two lives

Two vehicles were involved in a fatal accident on the N2, near the Acasia fourway outside Ermelo.

On scene, Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue Services worked tirelessly to free the driver of one of the vehicles.

The extent of the driver’s and his passengers’ injuries is unclear.

The driver and a passenger of the other vehicle were declared dead on the scene.

In total, four people were admitted to hospital.

ER 24, the provincial ambulance services, Eskom’s ambulance services, local police, the Mpumalanga traffic control, Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue Services, forensics, Star of Life, Van Wettens Towing Services, and Ermelo Towing Services were on the scene.

While the N2 was closed due to the accident, another collision occurred.

Details surrounding that accident are vague.
