Sight of chaos outside Ermelo after accident

Bags of cement and vehicle parts were scattered across the tarmac, making it difficult for motorists to pass by.

An accident between a car and a truck transporting pallets of cement caused traffic congestion on the N17, about 25km outside Ermelo on December 17.

Tolcon, the N17 route patrol was first on scene and notified all emergency services to despatch.

Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue Services, ER24, the provincial ambulance services, local police, traffic control, and local towing services were on the scene.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Ermelo Hospital.

The truck driver sustained no injuries.
